Hi, I’m John and I’m a professional photographer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have been shooting for over 35 years and have traveled the world with my camera, but primarily I shoot in the American West. I shoot photos and video for business and social media purposes. Additionally, I shoot portraits. I especially enjoy the opportunity to create artistic images of real people.

My photography experience started while traveling as a young man, taking snapshots in Japan.  A passion was ignited. Soon I was the photography editor of my college newspaper. After college I opened my own studio and shot portraits, commercial, events and concerts. I then moved to corporate video production. 

I worked in television, commercials and film. Eventually I started appearing in front of the camera (it’s a long story…), so I understand how it feels to be in front of the camera. I became a on-air human-interest reporter for the Salt Lake Olympics on KSL-TV. After that, I shot documentary shorts for humanitarian organizations in Cambodia and Africa. I learned how to tell a story on a deadline.

Today, I enjoy working with day-to-day media requirements for businesses and people. I work on contract, producing and managing communications for small to medium-sized businesses.
